Most dentures are made with good, basic, quality teeth and little or no characterization or personalisation in the positioning of the teeth and the shaping of the pink acrylic supporting the teeth. These dentures are still good and functional – but they do sometimes have that “denture look”.
Dentures can be made with teeth that have multiple layers of colours and varying degrees of translucency to closely mimic the layers of the natural tooth and the pink acrylic of the denture can be “carved” to look and feel more natural. Teeth can also have an inherent variation in the shape of the individual teeth, this results in less symmetry and hence a more natural appearance.
The use of premium quality teeth that are suited to the individual they are intended for, combined with skilful arrangement and artistic “carving” will give an asymmetrical but pleasing result in a denture that looks more natural.
